Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Shargun, Gissar Range. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.43). Stratotype in the upper reaches of the Shargun River, at its confluence with the Yangilik River. Included in the Talhab Horizon (56; 189; 446; 452).

Synonym: Shargun Suite, Сангардская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Dark green clays with layers of sandstones and shell limestones. Thickness 68-75m.

Lower contact

Lies conformably on the Yangilyk Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Dasgiryak Fm
